Respected British journalist and author Mick Mc Govern has shocked the British media by being the first journalist to turn over tapes to the police, Mc Govern handed alleged interview tapes over to police, the tapes were in the possession of another journalist Barry Penrose, Penrose said that police turned up with a production order and a signed authorisation from Mc Govern to hand the tapes over to the police.
